Weekly Shuffle #1- Celebrate by Utada Hikaru

Hey guys! I decided to do this weekly segment on my blog where I will talk about a randomly selected song from my iTunes. So basically, I will have my iTunes on shuffle and will talk about the first song to play. Also this segment is heavily based (as in it’s exactly the same) on the “Random Song of the Week” segment by dreamtiny on her blog (Musical Ramblings of a Dreamer- link in the sidebar XD ). Please be sure to visit her site as well, since she’s a really awesome blogger!!

There are some rules though:

-I will only talk about songs that are either Korean or Japanese since everything else doesn’t fall into the scope of my blog. (unless you really want me to talk about them XD )

-If an instrumental turns up I will talk about the normal version of the song…granted I remember what the original song is

-No repeats! As in, if I’ve talked about a song before I won’t talk about it again…because that would be weird…and redundant…

-I will list any skipped songs before I start talking about the song for this week.

Celebrate by Utada Hikaru

Celebrate is one of my favorite songs off of Utada Hikaru’s Heart Station album (which is possibly one of the best albums ever XD ). I love Utada’s voice, it’s just so clear and smooth, and her music just showcases it so well. Celebrate is one of the most fun and up-tempo songs on the album! I really like the bridge, since she drops to a lower pitch and removes almost all the instrumental, before bringing everything back for a really strong pop chorus. On a side note, I hope Hikki comes back from her hiatus soon (well as soon as she’s ready to, as long as it’s not more than 5 years ) since she has some of the best j-pop music I have ever heard. It’s a lot of ballads but they are so unique, that they never sound boring. She’s probably the only person whose ballads I can listen to over and over again. Here’s to hoping for Hikki to release another album as awesome as Heart Station.

AAAHHH this took forever, but I wanted to wait for a decent HD version of the PV to be released…and that never happened (TT__TT wahh I like seeing pretty boys in HD, especially u Taguchi!!!). Anyways, I ended having to use the best version I could find to make my screen caps for this review…and considering how my caps turned out, since the video claims to be HD, either it was lying, or I suck at making screen caps

And I’m back! I’ve been away from the internet this week due to…well, a lot of things But I’m back and I have a whole slew of posts ready to be posted hehe.

Well, while I was gone the PV for Morning Musume’s single was revealed! I was already a fan of the song, and I was excited to see if the music video would live up to my expectations and I have to say H!P did a pretty good job with this one . It still follows the typical dance shot, close-up shot formula that all H!P PVs do, but they also made some attempts to do something new with the PV. In the end, it’s still just there for eye candy, but it’s a step in the right direction , I think that Momusu’s Creative Director (Tsunku???) has been trying to be a little more creative, and I can appreciate that…sort of

The radio rip for Morning Musume’s 46^th single (O.o OMG they’ve been around 4 foreba!!!) is out, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed. In all honesty, while I do keep tabs on a lot of Japanese Idols it takes a lot for their music to impress me (unless your name is KAT-TUN…but White still sucks as a single…look out for a review on that when the MV comes out )

Fiction: Best Title Track B2ST ever made! and Fact: B2ST is back!

B2ST is back and this time with their first ever full-length album titled Fiction and Fact!

hehe I love the horned cap, buy me one now! But I swear, I saw f(x)’s Krystal wearing the same cap…*gasp* is this the gangsta boy she was talking about O.o

Fiction and Fact, has to be THE BEST release from B2ST in their career so far, or at least it is in my opinion. I was never a huge fan of their title tracks and often ended up liking their mid-tempo material from their mini albums a lot more. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I found that this entire album has a more R&B sound to it (R&B is my weakness ^_^), and very few generic ballads thrown in (search for any Drama OST song and you’ll know what I’m talking about… those darn piano melodies!).
